We have finally finished reading the book Wherever you go there you are at our Monday evening study session. We voted and agreed to read The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche, which is described as “A new spiritual classic from one of the foremost interpreters of Tibetan Buddhism to the West”. [...] The deadline is rapidly approaching for finalizing the budget to be approved by the Board of Trustees and the congregation for the fiscal year beginning on July 1. As of today (Monday, April 19), we have received pledges covering 93% of our target. In addition to the general advantages of becoming debt-free, there is a short-term benefit: getting the mortgage payments out of the operating budget in order to free up funds for sustaining ministry.
