The Social Action Committee is responsible for alerting the congregation to issues pertinent to the quality of life in our local, national, and international community by funneling information, proposing priorities, and planning for action and advocacy by the committee and/or the congregation. The committee provides information and educational opportunities for the congregation and community-at-large by announcements of relevant events, meetings and activities.

CHANGE COMES TO THE PALS SILENT PEACE VIGIL
The Peace Alliance ofthe Lower Shore(PALS) Silent Peace Vigil began in October, 2002, with “the march” toward the Iraq war. Until recently peacemakers stood for peaceevery Sunday afternoon.
Starting August 9 (the 69th anniversary ofthe atomic bombing of Nagasaki) PALSSilent Peace Vigil will be held every other Saturday, from 11:00 A.M. – NOON,on the corner of Route 13 and College Ave., by SU.

As conflict rages throughout our world community, weinvite YOU to stand for peace with us, in this visible peace action. We hope passersby will be moved to CONTACTCONGRESS AND THE PRESIDENT FOR PEACE. Your presence is the message
