Foundations the latest news from Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County December 2018 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from HFHWC! Here at Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County we have been embracing the Holiday Spirit! From our November 3 Give Back Day; to Giving Tuesday; to the Jaycees Salisbury Christmas Parade; to the December 9 Barnes & Noble Book Fair, we have been getting out in the community to raise funds, awareness, and community spirit this Giving Season. In all we do, at the forefront of our minds and hearts, is the understanding that making a difference in the lives of the people in our community who need decent, affordable places to live is of the utmost importance. Please help us in our efforts to build stronger communities right here in Wicomico County. Every person has something to contribute. Every person has something to gain. Every hand makes a difference. Volunteers make all the difference in what we do. In no way was that more apparent than on November 3, when Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County partnered with Emmanuel Wesleyan Church to revitalize and serve the Church Street neighborhood. We painted; cleaned overgrown brush; winterized the community garden; conducted outreach; and worked on our playhouse for the Salisbury Christmas parade. Without the incredible volunteer turnout we had, we could not have made the impact we did. Each week volunteers dedicate time, talent, and heart to our mission. Without those efforts, we could not do what we do. To each person who gave, and continues to give, hours of personal time to perform service for Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, thank you! To volunteer in construction; the ReStore; in our office; or for special events such as Chefs for Habitat or the Women’s Build, email volunteer coordinator Angel Watson.
